Description
Carved and painted wooden figure of a woman. [JC [OPS Move] 12/6/2017]
Long description
Carved and painted wooden figure of a woman. The figure is standing, with arms by her sides and hands touching her stomach. Her neck is elongated and carved with grooves and supports the head which is disproportionately large. Incised marks on the cheek probably represent facial scarification. Her hair is arranged into a pointed loop and, along with the eyebrows, has been painted black. The rest of the body is painted white. Around the waist is a string of tubular black beads, to which a piece of red textile is attached. Another string or orange coloured beads is tied around the neck. [JC [OPS Move] 12/6/2017]
