Research and responses: According to the Encyclopedia Britannica Online, the Dafla are a tribal people of eastern Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh, a mountainous state in northeastern India. Dafla is also the name of hills in the region. Assam is bounded to the north by Arunachal Pradesh, and thus both locations have tentatively been suggested as provenances here. [CW 29/3/2000]
