Research and responses

This object was included in a survey to identify Cellulose Nitrate in the Tortoiseshell combs found in the collection. This object was examined under x40 magnification. Granular pigmentation travelling through the depth is just visible around an area of light pigmentation confirms the material as Tortoiseshell. [AH 16/10/2008]
