Long description
Knife [.1] with T shaped copper alloy hilt, in leather sheath [.2] with leather loop, carried by men. The hilt has an expanded guard with zigzag shaped edges. The grip is narrow and flat and the butt has two conical tips and a triangular perforation. The hilt is decorated with incised lines and has two overlaid pieces of incised copper, one at the guard and one at the butt. The sheath is made from leather and has stamped geometric patterns on both surfaces. It has an iron and copper alloy bound mouth and chape. The chape has a piece of green leather in the centre. The leather has been dyed black below the mouth and above the chape. The knife is held in the sheath with a leather loop that wraps around the grip. [SM 22/06/2007]
