- Long description
- Wooden plough for a pair of donkeys. Consisting of a wooden beam pegged to a wooden handle and foot with an iron ploughshare attached. Attached to the foot is a short wooden peg with a tapered stick attached. A small wedge-shaped peg is inserted between the beam and foot. Tied to the wooden beam is a rope which then attaches to a second, shorter, wooden beam with a notch at each end - this would have been the harness for the donkeys. A twisted and coiled ring was found with the plough. For the tapered stick see [1923.33.35 .2], for the wedge-shaped peg see [1923.33.35 .3], and for the coiled ring see [1923.33.35 .4].
