Research and responses

According to Ethnologue ORIYA is current group name for Uriya. [MR 23/2/2000]

Detailed information given by Colin Langton, 2001. Type is given as "Wakizashi, (short sword) in Buke Zukuri Koshirae (mounts)". He notes that, "...the blade certainly dates from the Shinto period circa 1600-1781, and originated from Mino or Yamashiro regions, as there is a blend of forging styles present, i.e. mixed school of worksmanship."
