Long description
Wooden spade. It has a long cylindrical shaft which expands into a long, paddle-like blade, rounded at the distal end. The opposite end of the shaft terminates in a carved human fist, thumb extending. A carved wooden footrest is bound to the blade with string. It comprises a flat, trapezoidal base, perpendicular to the blade, underneath which is a grotesque figure carved in the round. The base has a square perforation in the centre.
