- Long description
- Dagger [.1] with two edged tapering blade and carved bone hilt, in leather sheath [.2] with twisted leather arm loop. The hilt is flared at the guard and butt. The guard is oval and the butt is round in section. The butt has been turned on a lathe. A small grey metal hemispherical boss has been affixed to the butt with an iron pin. The sheath is made of red leather and bound around the centre and at the mouth with reptile skin and around the tip, centre and mouth with a thin black leather strip. One surface is decorated with stamped geometric decoration. The arm loop is attached at the mouth through a plaited leather loop. [SM 20/06/2007]
