1938.35.1076Pistol-tinder-box of iron with tinder compartment in the side, with carved wooden butt, tinder compartment in side. There is also a piece of flint, wrapped in paper, in situ in the hammer. Extending from the front of the tinder box, supported on two legs and feet, is a taper-holder: a reel of wood and metal, placed horizontally, for coiling up the wax-taper, and a spring-clip for holding end of wax-taper upright for burning; iron foot under taper-holder.
