1966.1.907Optical toy with a plain wooden frame and painted glass depicting a juggler wearing a red tunic balancing on a ladder and throwing a bench. A second piece of glass is painted with black areas, which, when slid sideways, obscures part of the ladder, which then appears as a bench. There is a pin at the top and bottom of the frame. 1938.35.1103Pistol tinder box. Rectangular metal box, the sides of which are screwed on. There is a squared narrow candlestick on top at one end and at the other is the spring-loaded mechanism for igniting the tinder including a flint-holder and striking surface. On the short side, below the candlestick is a hinged door, possiblyfor filling or cleaning the inside of the box. The two sides of the box are decorated around the edges with a zig-zag border, and engraved in the centre with scroll work decoration within which words are inscribed. On one side the words 'F.
