Research and responses

In Japanese mythology, Benten is a one of the Seven Gods of Luck, the Buddhist patron goddess of literature and music, of wealth, and of femininity. She is generally associated with the sea. According to one legend, she married a sea dragon, thus putting an end to his ravages of the island Enoshima.["Benten" Encyclopædia Britannica Online]. Despite this mention of Enoshima, it is unclear as to where it is located or the correct spelling. [CF 12/1/2000]
