Long description
Spear with a very long and narrow metal blade, socketed onto an extremely short shaft of dark wood. Socketed onto the butt end of the shaft is a long metal spike. From the socket the spike extends in a square-section, with notched edges, before continuing in a circular section towards the tip, which is square in section and blunted. The blade widens at its base and has a prominent longitudinal ridge on both faces. There is a small band of leather binding on the blade socket. [JMC [OPS move] 28/8/2018]
