Research and responses

According to the Encyclopedia Britannica Online, the area known as Gran Chaco is found in Argentina, Paraguay and Bolivia. [CW 5/1/2000]

The 'Gran Chaco' referred to in the accession entry is probably in Paraguay. This assumption is based on the RDF 'Indian Curios from Paraguay' and the accession book entry for the previous accession, 1903.19, which was also donated by Andrew Pride. It states 'List and description of articles from the Lengua tribe of Indians living in El Gran Chaco del Paraguay. S.A. Collector A. Pride South American Miss[ion] Soc[iet]y.' [CMP 04/08/2010]
