Japanese characters stating the name, location, and telephone number of the shop is printed on the top in black ink. The time of the purchase (2018-09-12 11:19), the amount of the payment (4,212 yen) and tax details are printed at the bottom.

Much of the writing is in Russian and the tea is obviously meant for export to Russia. The sides of the plates are ruched to allow the plates to curve upwards and form a lip. 1989.44.46.3Red lacquered candle holder/lantern base and central section of lantern stand. Circular wooden piece with expanded bottom section. Two rectangular holes perforate the entire thickness, and three more, arranged in a triangular orientation, are cut in the bottom of the disc. There is also a central round perforation in a slight depression on the top side for holding the candle. There are also two rotating pieces of metal for hooking onto the bottom rim of the lantern to hold it in place.
