Long description
Spear with leaf-shaped metal blade and ornate, cylindrical brass ferrule which is attached to a shaft of dark wood. The blade is set into a brass trefoil, which is separated from the ferrule by an eight-lobed plate. The ferrule is decorated with many incised bands. The top of the shaft has a thin coating of ?lead or ?lead paint. [JMC [OPS move] 23/8/2018]
