In the Barnes Papers, Box 60, Item VIII [a small album, 9" x 5.5"], Benjamin Harrison has produced a water colour illustration of this eolith. Catalogue number 20. It is on a page entitled "Retroussé". Written below the illustration is "2263 Sparks [?]Fe." [JFK 06/11/2009]
In 2007 when packing the stone tool collections for relocation to a new repository this object was found in a box labelled on the outside 'Eoliths Misc. Ex-Display'. Inside the box was the following note, now in the related documents filed under 1916.20.18: EOLITHS Selected Sites. Sites include Darmsden, Knowle farm Wilts, Kent plateau. Specimens are those selected by R.R. Inskeep. The majority of these eolithic specimens are stored in the garage behind the music gallery.' [ZM 06/03/2008]
On 13 May 2008 Angela Muthana, an archaeologist and lithics specialist, examined this object and entered it on a database created as part of the research project 'The Eolith Controversy', headed by Professor Roy Ellen at the University of Kent [for more information on the project and maps of the Kent plateau area see researchers file 'Ellen'] [ZM 13/05/2008]
