In the Barnes Papers, Box 60, Item VIII [a small album, 9" x 5.5"], Benjamin Harrison has produced a water colour illustration of this eolith. Catalogue number 35. It is on a page entitled "Double scraper long form". Written below the illustration is "1589. s. ash." [JFK 06/11/2009]
In December 2007 this object was examined by Professor Roy Ellen and Angela Muthana from the Department of Anthropology, University of Kent, who identified the red label 'Kent. - Plateau' that is stuck on the object as a label commonly found on objects collected by Benjamin Harrison. Harrison apparently used these objects on objects to indicate they were found west of the River Medway. [ZM 06/12/2007]
On 13 May 2008 Angela Muthana, an archaeologist and lithics specialist, examined this object and entered it on a database created as part of the research project 'The Eolith Controversy', headed by Professor Roy Ellen at the University of Kent [for more information on the project and maps of the Kent plateau area see researchers file 'Ellen'] [ZM 13/05/2008]
