Long description
Earth crucible used in lost wax casting to melt metal to make bells. The crucible consists of a rounded, hollow earth vessel, blackened inside, which has been broken unevenly at the top to reveal the inside. The inside is imprinted with concentric circles, left by bullet cases used as scrap metal. A piece of copper remains attached to the rim of the crucible. [AFS [OPS move] 2/9/2019]
