Research and responses

This grave (B 5) is not published in the excavation report. This is an unusual vessel in shape and polish. It is dark brown /red rather than the brighter red of polished ware, but not as black as so-called 'black-polished' ware. The closest example is possibly P 71 in Petrie's (1921) Corpus of Prehistoric Pottery and Palettes, the 'P' standing for 'P-ware' (Polished-ware) [AS 15/08/2012].
