In Petrie's classification of Predynastic pottery (e.g. Petrie 1901 Diospolis Parva; Petrie 1921 Corpus of Prehistoric Pottery and Palettes this would be known as a C-ware (cross-lined) bowl, which is a type of pottery that is characteristic of the early Predynastic, Naqada [Nagada] I period (c. 3900-3700 BC).
