Long description
From conservation card by Katrina Kakouli 13.09.2002: Large fish hook of shell and bone held together by bindings of coarse plant fibre string. Also attached is a length of the same string in a coil. [FC 26/02/2009]

Research and responses

This object was examined by Fergus Clunie during a research visit on 24 July 2013. He stated this fish hook is used for catching dogfish tuna. The barb on the point indicates that it is a trolling hook. [MJD 24/07/2013]
