Shotover Hill is known to be the site of Neolithic and Bronze Age activity. The Oxfordshire Historic Environment Record [HER] contains details on three sites: PRN 1776 - Flint objects from Shotover Hill now in the Pitt Rivers Museum, PRN 1780 - Two Neolithic pits containing flint scrapers, cores and debitage, PRN 1781 - Bronze Age barrows.
