The blade extends straight from the handle, curving 90 degrees to a point at the tip, with the cutting edge being on the inside of the curve. The top of the handle is bound with twisted plant fibre. 1923.84.221Hoe with curved iron blade set into a wooden shaft. The shaft is cylindrical and swells slightly at the head, where there is a slot for the blade.
