- Long description
- Wood lock of three parts: two bolts and one key. The shorter bolt is cut to a four sided point at one end and has three retractable pins in one wall of the chiseled part of its underside. The longer bolt has a chiseled section on its underside and four perforations into this topped by an inlaid metal plate. The key has four pins at one end arranged to fit into the holes on the larger bolt. [LKG 28/05/2009]

According to the 1901 census his fuller name was Frederick J. Brown, he was born in Prestbury, Cheshire and was then aged 52, living in Steeple Aston and a clergyman in the Church of England [Alison Petch [as part of 'The Other Within' project 2006-9] 05/01/2007]
