Research and responses: Please note that these items are discussed in the Rolleston correspondence, Rolleston papers, Ashmolean Museum, in a series of letters from the Earl of Antrim in which he makes clear that he is going the locally acquired objects to Rolleston as a mark of their friendship when Antrim was at Christ Church College around 1871. These items were donated to the OUMNH, then transferred to the Ashmolean in 1886 as part of the reorganization of museums collections, then finally sent by the Ashmolean to us in 1969. Presumably other items from this large donation were retained by the Ashmolean Museum [AP 24/09/2012]
