Long description
Leather-bottomed wooden container with separate lid. The wooden core is open at both ends, the base being covered with camel-skin (actually two pieces stitched together) that continues roughly half-way up the sides. Hide carrying strap. Separate hide-lid. There is incised decoration (pyroengraving?) around the top of the wooden core. [JC 1 7 1999]
