- Description
- Five pieces of glazed pottery, possibly forming the foot of a vessel. [ASh [OPS move] 10/02/2016]
- Long description
- Five pieces of glazed pottery. When put together these form a roughly circular piece of footed glazed pottery, broken around the edges. Possibly the base of a flattish footed vessel or plate? The pottery is decorated with geometric and leaf designs on a blue and dark red background. One piece is perforated, through which a piece of metal wire has been twisted - possibly to hang the vessel? There is no entry on this object in the list of objects donated by the Estate of Mr Buxton in the RDF, however this object was found boxed with the rest of the collection and is very similar to two other objects which are entered as 'bases'. See 1966.32.58 and 1966.32.61 for these two objects. [MdeA 18/2/99]
