Research and responses

The material was collected - mostly in Ethiopia and Arabia by Colonel Robert E. Cheesman (c 1880 - 1962).

The objects in the collection 1997.42 were originally accepted by Jeremy Coote, there is very little supporting information in RDF and in a number of cases it has not been possible at the cataloguing stage to give a definite use or function for the objects. Any user requiring more information is requested to seek guidance from Jeremy in the first instance. Claire Warrior, during her year working in Documentation was asked by Jeremy to compile a rough list. In some cases she has suggested uses. Where this differs from the cataloguer's the addiitonal information has been added in the Notes field [AP 1/2/99]
