Description
Shallow circular tray. [ASh [OPS move] 27/6/2017]
Long description
A shallow circular tray, the rim made of birch wood, 2 inches in depth, the bottom being of pine wood, in three pieces, the middle piece being 4 5/10 inches wide, and projecting about 7 inches beyond the rim, probably for fixing it to the Canoe. Diameter 13 inches. Used by the Eastern Esquimaux to coil the harpoon line in to avoid danger of its becoming entangled. Possibly varnished on the interior. [ASh [OPS move] 27/6/2017]
