Research and responses

This is a 'something-inside-basket'. Rattle in lid is probably lead shot. (Paul 1944:38).

Teri Rofkar (Tlingit Tribe) and Luba Dovgan-Nurse examined this object during a research visit in November 2011. They made the following comments: This basket has had some treatment because it is darker that it originally was. The rattling noise is produced by gizzard stones. [El.B 22/11/2011]
