Single leg iron with several links of chain attached.
Long description
Single leg iron with several links of chain attached. The iron is rusty. The device is made of a semicircular piece of iron with the ends forming loops, two triangular loops and a chain with seven loops. [MJD DDF Body Arts Project 2010/2011 14/10/2010] The iron was used as a restraining device for slaves and also criminals and any other people found to be uncontrollable. The iron was purchased by the donor from a dealer in Erfoud in southern Morocco in May 1998. [MdeA]6/10/98
