Long description
Ceremonial rattle, in the form of an animal with pointed ears and long concave body with projecting spikes. The rattle has a mane and tail made of horsehair, the body is made from a bean pod with thorns possibly from a Ceiba tree attached along the length. The body contains seeds or beans. The bean pod and is painted in red, yellow and green, the eyes are blue with long eye lash details [KJ 19/11/2008]
