- Simple wind instrument of river reed.
- Long description
- Simple sections closed by node one end, open at other; a narrow slit along one side nearly from end to end. When air is blown through open end, the valve is forced open and thrown into vibration, causing a note which varies with the length of reed section. Retreating reed principle. Formerly used by boys.
