Description
Lamellaphone with tortoise shell resonator with wooden sounding board.
Long description
Backrest and bridge of a thin iron metal strip. Each tongue fastened to the surface of the board with two thick metal strips. Originally 11 tongues? Two sound holes, one through the board on the right below the tongues and the other through the tortoise shell on the right. The board was originally attached to the shell by cane (now visible) and black gum. Traces of the gum remain on the board and back of the tortoise shell, in construction it is very similar to 1920.15.1, but this example shows traces of very much use. [HLR].
