Long description
Shaped clay core, one of the stages in casting a brass bell using the lost wax method. Dome-shaped hollow clay core with a square hole at the top and bottom and a slight indention about two centimetres from the base. The core has large cracks in the centre of the base around the square hole. [SM (Verve) 18/08/2014]
