Description
Small bag made from a complete textile folded in half and stitched up the weft selvages.
Long description
Small bag made from a complete textile folded in half and stitched up the weft selvages. The terminal area is at the bottom. Woven in two and three colour complementary warp weave with a variety of geometric motifs. Three pattern bands are separated by plain brown warp stripes. No strap. Warp is probably mainly sheep's wool; weft is brown camelid fibre. Warp spin: Z2S; weft S2Z; warp count 64 epi; (26/cm) weft count 24 ppi (10/cm).

Rowe (1977:83) illustrates a belt in this technique which she describes as follows: 'Stripes of complementary-warp weave with 3-span floats in alternating alignment (3/1 horizontal color [sic] change, diagonals in 2-span floats) and stripes of 3-colour complementary-warp weave with 3-span floats aligned in alternate pairs, with outlining and extra 3-span floats on the back.'
