Rectangular coca bag in warp-faced double weave
Long description
Rectangular coca bag in warp-faced double weave (Rowe 1977:94ff). Made from a complete textile folded in half and stitched up the weft selvages: concealed terminal area at base. Condor motifs. Tubular edging with ojo de gato (cat's eye) pattern. Bottom of bag has applied fringes and tassels. Narrow woven strap with plain warp stripes. Chemical dyes. Sheep's wool or camelid fibre. Cf. Wasserman & Hill 1981: 21, Plates 30-32. Warp spin Z2S; weft invisible; fringe Z2S2Z; warp cound 60 epi (24/cm); weft count 20 ppi (8/cm).
