- Long description
- Headband in warp-faced double weave (Rowe 1977:94ff) with scroll motif (wajrapallay, Quechua) said to represent the snail or cornucopia (Wasserman & Hill 1981:10). 11 multicoloured wrapped warp units at one end; flat braid at each end. Chemical dyes. Probably a mixture of sheep's wool and camelid fibre. Warp spin Z2S; weft Z2S; warp count 72 epi (29/cm); weft count 26 ppi (10/cm). Linda Mowat, 1998.
