Two letters from Roscoe to Balfour, one dated 14 April 1921: 'Yesterday I sent ... a case with th eroyal sword and a lion skin cover which was worn by a page when in attendance upon the king of Bunyoro, also a lip stone from Elgon such as is worn by teh women of the Bgesu tribe, one harp such as is used by the girls of Elgon; two or three stone flaking [sic] found near Jinja of stone implements, and egg of a crocodile such as was used to hold the poison potion for the kings of Ankole and Bunyoro when they were about to end their lives and a fancy belt such as princesses wore in Bunyoro. ...'
