- Research and responses
Chris Gosden Curator of Archaeology at the Pitt Rivers Museum looked at this object on 22nd May 1998. He ascertained that it is made of fine grain volcanic stone. The stone is black in colour suggesting it is not prehistoric in age but less than 1000 years old. [CK 22 05 1998]
