Description
Lacquered plate.
Long description
Black outside, red inside. Used by Buddhist pongyis (monks) for fruit, or sometimes for rice, when the contents of a food-bowl are shared out. Sandra Dudley noted that this may consist of bamboo strips but this is impossible to tell from the laquered exterior. [DCF Court Team 20/1/2004]
