Long description
Dao [.1] with expanding, single edged, square ended blade and wooden hilt bound with cane [sheath - 1894.27.21 .2]. The cutting edge is straight, the spine is concave and flares towards the tip. The hilt is also flared at the butt. The grip is bound with split cane with a band of plaited cane at the top. [SM 10/09/2007]
