- Long description
- Quiver, consisting of woven basketry pouch with a frame made from bamboo strips, and and two bamboo tubes. The strips used to construct the pouch have been woven to create a striped pattern. Both tubes have lids constructed from plaited plant fibre with ?resin coating, connected by twisted plant fibre cords to the body of the tubes. The smaller of the two tubes is connected to the outside of the basketry pouch, and a black feather has been inserted at the join. The larger of these tubes in attached inside the pouch, and contained arrows [1892.4.5 .3 - .7 & .9]. A rectangular strap constructed from basketry woven in a chevron pattern is attached to the sides of the basketry pouch. [EH [OPS move] 28/9/2017]
