Long description
Flask for gunpowder, wooden with animal horn spring valve, carrying sling and tassels of yarn threaded with beads, shells and buttons. Probably a priming flask. The flask is decorated all over with incised patterns. It is bound at the widest end with plaited grass. The flask has two carved loops, attached through these are the carrying sling and tassels. The tassels are multicoloured yarn; the beads are orange. [SM 02/11/2007]
