Long description
Peacock feather ornament [1996.3.1 .4 .1] with separate reinforced textile support [1996.3.1 .4 .2] to be attached to the very top of Black Hat Dancer's hat [1996.3.1 .1]. Circular fan-shaped ornament made of peacock feathers with tear-shaped yellow painted cotton textile glued at centre. At the base of the feathers there are two supporting wooden spikes painted red. These are inserted into the two holes on the gold painted nimbus on the hat [1996.3.1 .1]. The tear-shaped support is made of reinforced layers of textile painted gold and black. This is placed between the nimbus and the feather ornament to support it. [FB 02/12/2014]
