Long description
Fire fan. The fan is five-sided and made from one palm leaf, the fronds of which are interwoven [twill plaited]. The colour of the fan is a light golden yellow. The handle of the fan is made from the gathered and bound ends of the palm leaf used to weave the fan. These ends are tightly bound on either side and secured with a double loop of plant fibre or cotton at the centre where they cross. [LKG 01/09/2009]
