Long description
Qabbah (chest panel) for a woman's dress. The qabbah comprises two pieces of thick black woven silk laid on top of one an another and stitched in place, and includes a large square of decoration, a rounded collar and chest slit. The main design is an inverted arch filled with geometric motifs, with repeating arches of different colours below, with a series of small crosses within. Above this is a central cross designs and columns of floral and foliate designs. Sitting above the square, either side of the collar, is an embroidered design of an urn or vase with flowers.
