Description
Silk standard on wooden pole. [EH [OPS move] 25/7/2017]
Long description
Silk standard. Cylindrical wooden pole terminating at both ends with iron fittings. The pole is painted in dark brown pigment with alternating bands of stripes and bands of scale shapes. At one end, the metal terminal is spear-shaped and decoratively worked in a scroll pattern at the base; at the other, the terminal is ribbed and circular in section, widening at the middle. At the same end as the spear-shaped terminal, a silk flag is tied to the pole. The flag consists of two layers, one of which has a rectangle of blue silk and three undyed triangular streamers, and the other of which has a rectangle of natural silk and three red triangular streamers. A brass sheath is attached to the pole below where the flag is tied on to the pole, and a brass disc with stamped border is attached to the flag. [EH [OPS move] 25/7/2017]
