Long description
Sword [.1] with single edged blade and brass-mounted hilt with leather, copper and copper alloy covered wooden sheath [.2]. The blade is straight and at the tip the cutting edge curves up to the spine. The grip is wooden and is bound with twisted copper alloy wire. The pommel is ?lead and brass and is decoratively perforated. The sheath is bound for the top 1/3 with copper sheet, the central 1/3 is bound with leather and the lower 1/3 is bound with copper alloy, possibly brass. It has a brass loop ?for a carrying strap below the mouth. [SM 01/10/2007]
