1982.20.4Water jug, with a spherical body beaten out of clay tempered with millet husk, with a coiled base, flaring trumpet neck, handle, and a plug spout. Beneath the rim a perforated top is built into the neck; the end of the spout is also perforated. The vessel was slipped with red haematite & mica. A black mark on the side. Two knobs and raised bands of clay decorate the spout and neck area. The pattern impressed on the body during its rotation on a fibre pounding mat. [ASh [OPS move] 09/03/2016]1982.20.4
